Thistle has recently been voted #1 Golf course in Myrtle Beach by Myrtle Beach Golf Insider. The dramatic 27-hole layout reflects its 1815 Scottish heritage with rolling fairways, stacked-sod bunkers and flawless bentgrass greens. Old World architecture, abundant landscape and wildlife surround the lakes, bridges and private homes.

This course is a “Hidden Gem”, an Arnold Palmer design. A few of the holes are difficult including the peninsula hole number 9 – a five star and worth playing again. A lot of fun to play. The views from this course are unbeatable with lots of interesting water holes and challenging shots in the midst of beautiful landscape.
It is the only par 6 on the strand. It is 679 long yards from the white tee with a slight dog leg left. Water on the left will swallow your shot if you try to shorten the hole just a bit by cutting the corner. Now I know what you are thinking, this gives me a better chance at par or birdie on the course signature hole. Yeah you can do it but… you will still need four good shots to reach the green.
